lotus ink studio is comprised of illustrators Zach McLaughlin + Jill Secord, who combine diverse backgrounds to offer an array of styles and themes of illustration and design. As we work in a variety of styles and media, it's easier to list what we don't offer: digital technical illustration (unavailable at this time due to injury), animation, and 3D modelling.

Zach McLaughlin //
born in: Ottawa, 1984
studied at: Sheridan College, BAA Illustration (technical stream)
resides in: Oakville, Ontario

Zach has moved around quite a bit and experienced many lifestyles and adventures, for better or worse. He is currently still trying to fit into big city Toronto life after living in rural areas for so long. In addition to visual arts (which he studied for five years at Sheridan College), Zach has a long standing interest in writing and hopes to be able to combine both skills successfully. Although he dedicated his studies to scientific and technical illustration, Zach enjoys working with all manner of subject matter and hopes to keep fresh ideas moving across the board.

Jill Secord //
born in: Brockville, 1985
studied at: Sheridan College, BAA Illustration (interpretive stream)
resides in: Oakville, Ontario

Jill is the more passive and laid back of the pair. Her talents and interests lie in narrative, conceptual, decorative, and design based work. Jill tries to instill everything she creates with elegance, flow and beauty. She dabbles in both painterly and flat styles and is currently trying to find the way to best marry the two.
